Odhran MacNiallais rules out return to Donegal panel for 2020

Odhran MacNiallais has ruled out a return to the Donegal football panel for 2020.

It is the second successive year that the highly-rated Gaoth Dobair man has opted out of inter-county football in a big blow to manager Declan Bonner's plans.

MacNaillais was instrumental in his club's run to the All-Ireland semi-final in 2018 before sitting out Donegal's Championship campaign in 2019.

And local reports suggest that Bonner has been unable to persuade the 27-year-old to be part of the upcoming inter-county season.

Donegal head into a new year where they will defend the Ulster title again, while they will be hoping to return to the All-Ireland semi-finals having missed out for the past two years.

The county begin their campaign on Sunday in Ballybofey when they host Monaghan in the first round of the Dr McKenna Cup.
