Scots film buffs have been starved of their regular trips to the cinema for more than three months now.
But there is light at the end of the tunnel as theatres prepare to reopen in Scotland from July 15 onwards.
UK cinema giant Odeon is firmly on the way to being ready for the big day, as it gets set to reopen most of its Scottish branches in just over two weeks time.
Cinemas at Braehead, Dundee, Dunfermline, East Kilbride, Edinburgh Fort Kinnaird, Edinburgh West, Glasgow Quay and Kilmarnock are all set to welcome customers back in on July 15.
Others in Ayr and Edinburgh Lothian Road will remain closed, with a reopening date expected to be announced soon.
All of the cinemas due to reopen will see strict social distancing rules enforced in a bid to safeguard both customers and workers from coronavirus.
Film fans will be urged to pay for tickets online while the use of cash has been banned. All food will be also prepackaged to minimise contact.
Customers will be greeted by a number of hand sanitising stations and staff will be offered appropriate PPE.
Start and end times of films will also be staggered in a bid to reduce queuing in buildings.
A number of big blockbuster films have been delayed during the pandemic, including the new James Bond film No Time to Die and Christopher Nolan’s hugely-anticipated Tenet.
But Odeon promises a schedule of films that contains classics from the past and the present on the first few days of operations.
