Odeon launches tickets from £5 at all cinemas in Wales this summer

If spending too many pennies is what's putting you off going to the cinema this summer, things are about to change.

Odeon venues across Walea are now offering customers the chance to see some of the biggest and best blockbusters on the big screen this summer for a new all-day, everyday price from just £5 per ticket.

The venues in Wales include Cardiff, Llanelli, Swansea, Bridgend and Wrexham.

The news comes after film fans in Bridgend launched a petition which claimed that residents were being "ripped off" by Odeon .

At the town's cinema, a standard ticket to watch the new Lion King when it was first released originally cost £12.75 for an adult and £10.50 for a child, while premier tickets cost £14.55 when the film was first released.

And Odeon in Llanelli recently cut prices  by almost half to match the neighbouring Swansea  cinema after complaints from people in the area.

Now Odeon venues throughout Wales, including Bridgend and Llanelli, are showing films from just £5 a ticket, or £5.75 if booked online.

Chris Bates, Commercial Director at Odeon UK & Ireland, said: “We are pleased to launch an everyday low-price across our cinemas in Wales, with tickets from just £5.

"This summer is going to be full of huge blockbusters for everyone to enjoy and we’re looking forward to welcoming guests through the door at our cinemas in Wales.”

What do I need to know about the offer?

  • Single standard 2D tickets for screenings are from £5 (if booked in cinema) or £5.75 (if booked online). The online price includes an online booking fee of 75p per ticket.
  • The price does not apply to special screenings and events, or family tickets, and additional upgrades costs apply to other film formats and seat types.
