Odell Beckham Jr. ready to turn the Browns into ‘the new Patriots’

In a feature piece in GQ magazine that spends ample time focused on his unusual fashion sense, new Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. also offers up some fashionably bold quotes about his new football home.

Interviewed as he prepared for the annual Met Gala, Beckham heaped hype on Browns QB Baker Mayfield.

“I would say he’s next, but I feel like he’s now,” Beckham said. “He’s Brett Favre — he’s going to be a Hall of Famer.”

No pressure, Baker …

Beckham also feels brashly confident about the outlook for the Browns while he’s under contract for the next five years. He’s talking championships.

“I plan on being there for the next five years and trying to bring as many championships there as possible,” he says, “turning [the Browns] into the new Patriots.”

Those are some bold words from Beckham. Then again, that’s what makes him enough of a star to wear a kilt with a sleeveless tuxedo jacket and get away with it.
