Odell Beckham Jr. named PFF’s top bounce-back candidate for the Browns

It can be hard to remember that Odell Beckham Jr. was one of the NFL’s brightest stars and best overall wide receivers not too long ago. Beckham has not been so fantastic since arriving in Cleveland in 2019, but Pro Football Focus holds out hope that Beckham’s star can rise once again.

PFF tabbed Beckham as Cleveland’s top bounce-back season candidate for 2021. In their list of the best bet on each of the NFL’s 32 teams to rebound from a disappointing 2020 season, Beckham is the biggest name.

Their explanation was penned by ESPN’s Jake Trotter, and it’s a great sales pitch for believing in Beckham and the Browns having a better 2021 together,

Not only is Beckham well on his way to being healthy again, he’ll be playing with a completely different Baker Mayfield, who was among the top passers in the NFL during the back half of last season. To be sure, OBJ and Mayfield have struggled with their chemistry in the past, up through Beckham’s season-ending knee injury. But a healthy Beckham and a more poised and confident Mayfield could be the combination that finally unlocks this duo.

Beckham was one of the few Browns veterans who didn’t have a good season in 2020, which makes him one of the easier choices across the league too.
