Cleveland Browns star wide receivers Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. both were forced to undergo surgery after the 2019 season. Landry went under the knife on February 4th for an injured hip while Beckham had surgery in late January to repair a core muscle injury. Both surgeries were considered to have gone successfully.
Landry is expected to be able to return at some point during training camp which will likely come in mid July. No timeline was given for Beckham but it took Kareem Hunt eight weeks to recover from the same procedure.
However, Beckham Jr. who has posted multiple times during his rehab, looked very good in a work-out with free agent quarterback Cam Newton. The video posted on Newton’s Instagram on Sunday.
It has been over four months since his surgery so Beckham should be mostly recovered. It is still good to see him running routes and looking very much like himself. It’s a good sign that he will be ready to go when it’s time for the team to convene in Berea in just over a month.
Last year, he was forced to miss time during training camp, which limited the reps that quarterback Baker Mayfield was able to get with him on the field. This could have attributed to what at times appeared to be a lack of timing in their first season together.
