Odell Beckham Jr free agency update as NFL star tipped to sign for Kansas City Chiefs

LA Rams Super Bowl winner Odell Beckham Jr is still without a team, but despite being tipped to sign for the Kansas City Chiefs, he's been spotted back inside the New York Giants facility.

Beckham Jr has been out of action since suffering another torn ACL, with the latest injury occurring in the second quarter of last season's Super Bowl against the Cincinnati Bengals. The wide receiver only signed for the Rams last year after being waved by the Cleveland Browns and was previously expected to re-sign.

Although that could still be on the cards, Beckham Jr has been tipped to make another move, although Sean McVay may be upping his efforts after another poor showing by the Rams. But ESPN analysts Dan Graziano and Marcus Spears thinks Beckham Jr is destined to sign for the Chiefs.

The 29-year-old was initially drafted by the Giants in 2014 before moving to the Browns five seasons later. After a short stint in Cleveland, the Rams came calling, and he won the Super Bowl for the very first time.

There's plenty more left in the tank for Beckham Jr, although he will be concerned after damaging his ACL for the second time. There are multiple teams thought to be in for the receiver, but the Chiefs have been tipped as the frontrunners at this stage.

Speaking on why the Chiefs should sign Beckham Jr, Spears said on ESPN's Get Up show: "Because they need a closer at the wide receiver spot. I like this team and we know how great Patrick Mahomes is. But when you get to high leverage games, which is where they are heading, it's about having the man as opposed to some concept Andy Reid can dial up.

"Beckham Jr will open up things obviously, and he will add and increase their run game. I think this is his best chance to win another ring, but I also think he can come in and increase an offence that just put up 41 points against the Bucs."

Graziano then sided with Spears, but was more cautious as he added: "I agree, but a couple things. We don't know when he's going to be healthy or how healthy he is going go be.

"The mist likely situation is back to the Rams, they've stayed in touch and there's mutual interest shown. But where would he want to go? The opportunity to play with Patrick Mahomes, and if he's healthy he could be the no.1 receiver."

The Chiefs lost Tyreek Hill in the off season as he joined the Miami Dolphins, and although their offence remains strong, they have lacked that trustworthy receiver at times. Thankfully for Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce remains an outstanding option the majority of the time.

The Chiefs are building momentum, and if Beckham Jr can get fit then he could be a valuable option. But the Rams will not want to lose him from their grasp, and are expected to put up a fight.
