Odell Beckham Jr. clocked the fastest speed of any player this season on a scoring play

Odell Beckham Jr. appeared to be shot out of a cannon after the Browns receiver caught the quick slant from Baker Mayfield and flew past the Jets defense for his 89-yard TD on Monday Night Football. On his way to setting his career-long scoring play, Beckham also set the top speed mark of any player on a scoring play through the first two weeks of 2019.

Beckham hit a top speed of 21.7 MPH during the peak of his run, where he exploded past Jets DB Brian Poole shortly after making the reception.

“I think I’m in a better physical and mental space than at any time in my life,” Beckham said after the game when informed of his speedy feat. “I was joking with my trainers this year that I can hit 24 (MPH).”

Beckham continued,

“It didn’t feel like the fastest I could run.”
