The NFL schedule isn’t yet public, but new Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. hints that he’s seen the Browns schedule already. Beckham tweeted out a cryptic message about the Week 1 opponent for the Browns, one that appears to allude to a trip to New York.
Beckham, of course, comes from the New York Giants. The Giants share the stadium in New York with the Jets, and that just might be what Beckham is referring to — a trip back to his old home.
The Browns new No. 13 dropped another reference to playing the Jets in Week 1 on Jets safety Jamal Adams’ Instagram feed:
It would be an easy matchup to sell. Baker Mayfield vs. Sam Darnold in the battle of second-year QBs is an NFL marketer’s dream. Adding the layer of Beckham returning to the Big Apple adds a tasty layer. It would also be a potential recreation of the original Monday Night Football game from 1970.
In addition, former Browns coach Gregg Williams is the defensive coordinator for the Jets.
