Odell Beckham admits he ‘wasn’t very happy’ with Giants

Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. returned to New York City on Monday night for the Met Gala sporting a kilt and, unsurprisingly, a whole lot to say.

In addition to suggesting Baker Mayfield is the next Brett Favre and a future Hall of Famer, and claiming he will turn the Cleveland Browns into the New England Patriots, Beckham also addressed his trade from the New York Giants.

Although the outspoken Beckham didn’t take direct aim at the Giants as he had previously, he did acknowledge that he was unhappy in New York for the last several years and knew in his gut his time there was ending.

“[I felt] something in my gut. . . I just wasn’t very happy,” Beckham told GQ. “It just became not the right fit.”

Beckham added that he’s never been happier than he is now, which is a line he’s pitched several times since being traded to the Browns, who have never appeared in a Super Bowl.

The Giants also seem happy to not be answering repeated questions about Beckham, his offseason activity, skipping the offseason workout program and his social media outburst, so it’s a win-win for both sides.
