BetOnLine still favors Russell Westbrook remaining with Thunder

The departure of Paul George makes it seem likely Russell Westbrook’s days with the Oklahoma City Thunder are coming to an end.

The team has put itself in position for a rebuild after acquiring five future first-round draft picks in the trade with the Los Angeles Clippers, giving them George, and essentially Kawhi Leonard, in return. The Thunder also reportedly agreed to a deal on Monday which will send Jerami Grant to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for their 2020 first-round pick.

A rebuild gives Oklahoma City less reason to hold on to Russell Westbrook, and motivation for him to want to play elsewhere. While some teams have already shown interest in the superstar guard, moving his huge contract won’t be easy to do. Which is why BetOnLine still believe Oklahoma City is most likely to be the place Westbrook calls home next season:

Among the favorites to land Westbrook, the Miami Heat, Houston Rockets and Detroit Pistons reportedly have some level of interest.
