Oddsmakers now consider Broncos favorites against Raiders

Earlier this week, the Oakland Raiders were widely considered 2.5-point home favorites against the Denver Broncos.

After Antonio Brown got in a fight with Oakland general manager Mike Mayock, there were reports that the Raiders were considering suspending the wide receiver for Week 1.

Many oddsmakers took Brown’s potential suspension into consideration and quickly flipped the odds, according to Esten McLaren of Sportsbook Wire. Denver is now considered a 2.5-point road favorite.

“It’s a big reversal based on the rumored absence of one wide receiver,” McLaren wrote Thursday. “The gravity Brown carries around the NFL is nearly as heavily based on his talents as the drama which has followed him around since the conclusion of last season and his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers.”

The over-under for a combined score between the two teams is still 43.

The game will be played at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum on Monday, Sept. 9 at 8:20 p.m. MT. The contest will be part of a “Monday Night Football” doubleheader and will be nationally televised on ESPN.
