The Broncos have the sixth-best odds of landing free agent quarterback Teddy Bridgewater this offseason, according to SportsLine oddsmakers.
The Panthers (+200) are the favorites to land Bridgewater, followed by the Colts (+300), Chargers (+500), Buccaneers (+700), Denver (+800), Bears (+1000) and Patriots (+1500).
If a fan bets $100 that Bridgewater will sign with the Broncos and that happens, the payout on 8/1 odds would be $900. It’s probably not a bet worth making, though.
Denver will likely bring in a veteran QB this offseason to serve as Drew Lock’s backup but Bridgewater will want to go to a team that will give him an opportunity to start. If Bridgewater was interested in remaining a backup, he could just re-sign with the Saints.
It doesn’t sound like Bridgewater will stay in New Orleans, though, and it seems unlikely that he would sign with the Broncos. Bridgewater should generate plenty of interest during NFL free agency and Denver will have no reason to give a big contract to be a backup.
Lock went 4-1 as a starter last year and will remain the starter in 2020.
