Oddsmakers favor Big Blue in battle for New York

Seeing New York on your schedule doesn’t warrant the same level of concern it once did, regardless of which team you’re faced with. As for when the two meet? Well, don’t expect a quality football game.

The Jets, 1-7, are preparing to host the Giants, 2-7, at MetLife Stadium this Sunday. Both franchises have their share of issues this season, however oddsmakers are rolling with the boys in blue.

The Giants are currently 2.5-point favorites, per BetMGM. They are set at -106 against the spread, boast a money line of -129 and the over-under sits at 42.5 points.

Gang Green, as 2.5-point underdogs, see a money line of +105 and are -115 against the spread.

This Sunday’s matchup holds slightly more water, as the two franchises completed a trade before the NFL deadline for the first time in history. The Giants were able to complete a transaction for defensive lineman Leonard Williams, sending multiple draft picks to Gang Green in the process. Sunday will be Williams’ first time facing his former team.

The battle of New York is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. Though the Giants are listed as the away team, oddsmakers clearly think they’ll have the edge against the Jets.
