Mauricio Pochettino has been in charge at Spurs for five years since leaving Southampton, and is suffering one of the worst runs of his career with only two wins since the start of the season, and no away win since January.
A woeful display against League Two opposition Colchester United in the Carabao Cup has piled further pressure onto Pochettino, who has had a number of suitors in recent years, including Manchester United and Real Madrid.
And the manager himself has seemed prickly of late, with a number of star players keen to move on over the summer and the boss clearly frustrated at the slow pace of incoming deals.
Spurs started the season with largely the same squad as last year, with Kieran Trippier and Fernando Llorente the only major outgoings, while Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso represented the only improvements to the team this year - and Lo Celso has missed large portions of the season through injury.
Pochettino's comments post-match clearly show he is not happy with his current squad and is looking ahead to possible business in the January transfer window already.
The odds on Pochettino leaving Spurs have reduced considerably - he's moved from 14/1 to 9/1 with Betfair to be the next Premier League manager to leave the club - joint fourth place behind Marco Silva, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Nuno Espirito Santo.
His odds on becoming next Real Madrid manager have also been slashed, with Zinedine Zidane currently struggling as boss at the Bernabeu.
Pochettino is second-favourite to be the next boss in Madrid behind Jose Mourinho, coming down from 5/1 to 5/2.
