Odds Shark releases updated win totals for Dolphins and AFC East rivals

The public perception of the 2019 Miami Dolphins has experienced a little bit of rehab over the last two months. Back in February and March, the Dolphins were generally expected to stink. And they still might — but there was a strong sense that Miami wanted to be bad this year.

And then free agency started and Miami did enough to keep its roster interesting. Follow that with the 2019 draft where the team exited with three expected starters: DL Christian Wilkins, QB Josh Rosen (via trade) and OG Michael Deiter. Sprinkle in some late free agent signings to try to up the ante in key spots and the Dolphins have had, by most accounts, a solid offseason with an eye to the future.

The perception of the Dolphins among oddsmakers is a different story, though. This afternoon, Odds Shark released a brand new set of win/loss wagers for the Dolphins and the rest of the AFC East. It’s still quite ugly for the Dolphins.

Miami’s updated line sits at 4.5 wins, with the “over” marked as -145 payout. That number (4.5) is the lowest in the division by two full wins, trailing the Buffalo Bills. The New England Patriots lead the pack by a comfortable margin — their win/loss line sits at 11. As a point of reference, the Patriots won 11 games last year, the first time they’ve failed to reach at least 12 since 2009 (10-6).

So, Dolphins fans. What say you? If you were to lay money on the Dolphins’ 2019 regular-season win total, would you take the over or under on 4.5 wins?
