Odds drastically slashed on Steven Gerrard becoming Tottenham's new manager

Steven Gerrard is the latest manager to be linked with Tottenham as the Premier League side's search for a new boss rumbles on.

Former Rangers ace Rino Gatusso was the latest big name to be linked with the vacancy in North London and the Italian World Cup winner looked set to succeed Jose Mourinho.

However, Spurs supporters voiced their opposition to the move on social media, prompting negotiations with chairman Daniel Levy to breakdown.

Now, according to oddschecker, the odds on Gerrard moving to Spurs have tumbled overnight, with the Rangers gaffer priced at 16/1 with some bookies after being touted at 40/1 just last night.

Levy's search for a new manager is almost becoming comical with the moves for Antonio Conte, Erik Ten Hag, Brendan Rodgers, Paulo Fonseca and Gattuso all falling flat.

The idea of Liverpool legend Gerrard taking charge of another English club might seem fanciful, and there's no suggestion at all he's keen on departing Ibrox any time soon, particularly with the Gers preparing for a crack at the Champions League next season.

Ajax boss Ten Hag has been reinstalled as the frontrunner once again at 4/1, whilst Sevilla's Julen Lopetegui is second-favourite at 5/1.
