Reality star Mark Byron explained the lengthy and unusual process Big Brother requires of contestants.
ITV2 gave viewers a brief glimpse at the new series of Big Brother on Monday. Perched neatly in the adverts of the Love Island final, the British public lost their minds and stormed Twitter with celebration.
Excitement is already sky high with the public vying to get on but previous Big Brother seasons have had multiple hoops applicants need to jump through before they can call themselves a housemate. Series Mark Byron who was a contestant on Big Brother 15 when it was on channel 5 spoke to the ECHO about their lengthy audition and unusual process.

Mark, from Liverpool, said: "I actually applied for it when I was 18 and got on but I decided not to go because I wasn't out at the time. I applied for it again and the producer who accepted me the first time around remembered me and he was like 'yeah, you're sound."
Mark was originally pinned for Big Brother 9 in 2008 but wouldn't find his moment until Big Brother 15 six years later. He added: "But after that, there's a lot of steps. You get a callback and they ask you a load of questions.
"There's a whole load of other legal stuff that goes on too like due diligence, background checks, police checks and that kind of stuff but after that they make you audition again. They put you in this massive mansion and give you these tasks to do with around 100 other people.
"They want to see how you interact and your personality. Then, day by day, they go from 100 to 90 to 80 and so on until you're only down to like 10."
Mark went on to say that once the "tasks" are given by the producers and you've been officially cast you have "about 10 days to get ready." In an unusual case, Mark said he was made to film his entry videotape before the show confirmed he would be entering. He added: So that was interesting."
