
Octopuses are hung up to be dried in the sun and the sea breeze in Harima, Hyogo Prefecture. Production of dried octopuses has reached its peak at Komiya fishing port in the town. Common octopuses caught in and around the Harimanada sea are dried in the sun for about two days so they can be used as ingredients in various dishes. Up to 100 octopuses a day are hung out to dry, and the work continues until the Bon Festival.
