Octomum Marie Buchan 'to sue clinic' after £2,500 boob job left her with 'dent'

A mum-of-eight is considering legal action against a plastic surgery clinic after a 'Christmas present' boob job went horribly wrong.

Marie Buchan, also known as Octomum, is still in agony 10 months after her breast augmentation procedure in Turkey.

The 37-year-old, from Birmingham, says she was supposed to have a 34DD cup size after the £2,500 operation, however she has been left with 34C boobs.

She claims the surgery has ruined her life, causing a 'dent' in one of her breasts, excessive scarring and severe pain, Birmingham Live reports.

The mum added: "It has been a complete nightmare. I really do feel like I have been butchered.

"I had been saving up for the operation for years through my job as a carer at the time and carrying out a number of car boot sales.

"It was always a dream of mine to have breast surgery and increase the size of my boobs.

"I was quoted around £5,300 for a boob job in England but the one in Turkey was £2,500. I did my research on the clinic and it had lots of good reviews.

"I flew out in January and stayed three nights. I paid a £500 deposit before I flew over and then they asked for cash to pay the rest. I had to take £2,000 with me.

"I told them before the operation that I wanted to have 34DD boobs. When I returned i was shocked to discover they were only a 34C."

Marie said she had also suffered pain in her breasts, reddening of the nipple, a 'dent' in one of boobs and excessive scarring.

She said she was told she could experience pain for up to six months after the surgery but said there had been no improvement after ten months.

"I expected pain but its been ten months now and the pain is still very severe. As well as the physical pain, there is the mental anguish. It has left me depressed.

"It has had a huge impact on my mental wellbeing and has made me more anxious. I just didn't want to go out.

"I would like to warn other women thinking of going abroad for a boob job. I totally regret going abroad for mine.

"People say to me to get the problem sorted in England but why should I go and get the operation done with taxpayers' money when the clinic in Turkey should be sorting it.

Marie said she was considering her options but could take legal action against the clinic.

Marie and her children, who are between the ages of six and 18,  live in a four-bedroom housing association property.

She sparked outrage when she appeared on This Morning saying life was better on benefits and she would spend her wages on a boob job.

The mum previously claimed she was being turned down for her dream job as a garage mechanic because of sexism.

She said she had applied for dozens of positions after gaining a Level 2 diploma in mechanics.

BirminghamLive revealed in 2015 how Marie had worked for several months at The Rocket Club in  Broad Street.

She worked at the club in 2004 following the birth of her second daughter.
