Octogenarian Melbourne couple go missing

Melbourne couple Gerda and Otto were last seen leaving a car park on Kings Way on Tuesday night. (AAP)

An elderly couple from Melbourne's southeast has been declared missing after failing to show up for a prearranged medical appointment.

Bentleigh couple Otto and Gerda, both aged 87, have not been seen since driving away from a Kings Way car park in their gold Lexus sedan on Tuesday night.

The octogenarians did not attend a prearranged medical appointment on Wednesday morning, with police and family holding concerns for their welfare as both require ongoing treatment.

Police say the pair are normally in regular contact with family and their disappearance is out of character.

Otto is described as 180cm tall with balding white hair, blue eyes and a medium build, while Gerda is about 170cm tall with short curly white hair and blue eyes.

Anyone who sights the couple or their car - registration PYM-184 - should contact Moorabbin police station on 03 9556 6565.
