Bangarra’s artistic director Stephen Page reprises one of the company’s landmark works, Ochres for the first Bangarra season at Carriageworks. First performed in 1994, Ochres sold out nationally, and went on to tour internationally, revealing Bangarra to the world.

Ochres are essential to the life of Aboriginal communities, and the work looks at them in form and colour. It is a four-part contemporary dance work, divided into yellow, black, red and white, with each part an investigation into the colour’s spiritual significance to Aboriginal people.
