With Ocean’s 8 turning out to be a hit at the box office, it seems inevitable that a sequel is right around the corner.
Certainly, star Sarah Paulson is on board for the idea, telling Entertainment Tonight that she already has an idea of who could join the cast of eight – Paulson, Sandra Bullock, Mindy Kaling, Anne Hathaway, Cate Blanchett, Awkwafina, Rihanna, and Helena Bonham Carter – to make Ocean’s 9 possible.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, she said: “I would like to add Bette Midler to the cast. I think she’d be great, or Emma Thompson. Can’t go wrong with either of them. Yeah, let’s get them both.”
Paulson told E! News that she’s yet to ask co-star Sandra Bullock whether she’s up for a return, adding: “I am curious [about] if we’re ever going to do that. It would be so much fun. We would have to add one more.”
Last year’s female-centric spin on the Ocean’s franchise made $297.7m worldwide.
Bullock starred as Debbie Ocean, the sister of George Clooney’s Danny from the early 2000s Ocean’s films, who plans the ultimate heist during a lengthy stay in prison.
Teamed with a crew of specialists, Debbie takes on the Met Gala, conning her way in to steal a necklace worth $150m.
