It will well and truly feel like the holiday season when Lara Lupish's Facon magazine launches its summer edition with a runway fashion show at Newcastle Baths on Thursday evening, November 28.

The ticketed show ($159 booked on eventbrite) includes sparkling wine, canapes, dessert, gift bag, runway show and a copy of the new edition of Facon magazine.

"Without doubt, the Newcastle Ocean Baths is one of the most spectacular locations in Australia and I want to project images of our runway across the country," Lupish says. "We are a force to be reckoned with in the fashion industry on a national scale and I want to show off this stunning city.

"Since I was a kid I have envisaged a runway between the two pools, creating an illusion of models literally walking on water. I can't think of any other runway event in the world that can create such a dramatic effect."

The event will be hosted by 106.9 breakfast presenter Jess Farchione, with celebrity DJ Shiralee Coleman playing soft beats inspired by the South of France.

Models will showcase resort and swim wear from national brands such as Camilla, Sass and Bide, swimwear brands Monty & Lou, Jets and Baku. Westfield Kotara will also be styling 12 runway looks for the summer months.

The Facon runway show will also be launching a new shark resistant wetsuit brand from local company, Sharkview, who have patented a special camouflage pattern.

"The runway will be a mix of national designers wanting to reach the sought-after Newcastle market, retailers within Westfield Kotara and also still supporting local designer boutiques such as Lillie's at The Junction and Scentsation," Facon marketing director Claudia Liebenberg says.

Australian designer Camilla will be showcasing her latest season on the runway. Founded 15 years ago in Bondi Beach by designer and artist, Camilla Franks, Camilla has captured the imagination of the world with its vibrant and bespoke bohemian lifestyle offering.

The Facon show will feature 30 models, many of them Face of Facon girls that the magazine unearthed through its 2018 and 2019 model search, including 2018 winner Chiara Voigt, 2019 winner Chloe Evans and finalists Lillian Owens, Dana Budden, Jamie Smith and Grace van den Boogaard. There will also be seven male models.
