A former Premier League goalkeeper has told Liverpool that they should have no worries selling Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Manchester United.
The recently engaged midfielder has spent five seasons on Merseyside after his £35m switch from Arsenal but failed to nail down a regular first-team spot due to injuries and a dip in form over the past few seasons. With the likes of Thiago, Fabinho and other midfielders preferred by Jurgen Klopp, the former Arsenal midfielder's Liverpool future is uncertain.
With 12 months left, rumours have grown since the transfer window opened that Oxlade-Chamberlain will be sold and a surprise name linked with his services has been Manchester United. Though no concrete offer has been made, the prospect of a Liverpool player making the jump to United is a very unlikely one due to the intense rivalry over the years.

But with United on the wane and in desperate need of reinforcements under new head coach Erik ten Hag, ex-shotstopper turned pundit Paddy Kenny believes Klopp should not be afraid to sell a player no longer making an impact in the first team to a team struggling to finish in the Premier League's top four on a regular basis.
“He’s a player who hasn’t played much in the last couple of seasons," Kenny told Football Insider . "If Man United are the only club interested and that’s the only possible move for him then I don’t see why not.
“I think the Ox will want to get out there and play more regularly. Obviously, that isn’t going to happen at Liverpool. Man United would be a good move for him if they can get that one done.
“I will say it again, they are in the position where if any club with Champions League football comes in for him, he will join them instead. There is a rivalry between Liverpool and Man United but not in terms of challenging for the Premier League.”
Oxlade-Chamberlain failed to register a minute of league football after March and only made 17 appearances across the league season. He could be joined out the door by Takumi Minamino who is poised to leave Anfield for around £17million.
