Observer and Guardian win anti-slavery media awards

Guardian and Observer reporters Annie Kelly and Mei-Ling McNamara have won the award for Best investigative article or broadcast news dealing with child trafficking at the Anti-slavery day media awards for their Observer article: 3,000 children enslaved in Britain after being trafficked from Vietnam.

The Best investigative article dealing with forced labour and domestic servitude – Lithuanian migrants trafficked to UK egg farms sue “worst gangmaster ever” – was won by Felicity Lawrence for the Guardian.

The annual ceremony pays tribute to the work of those in the media who have highlighted the nature and prevalence of modern slavery in the UK.
