PHILADELPHIA _ Hart beater: Flyers goalie Carter Hart made a season-high 40 saves to improve to 9-1-2 at home. The goal he gave up was deflected in; not much he could have done about it.
Welcome back, TK: The Flyers were buoyed by the return of leading scorer Travis Konecny, who missed three games with a concussion. Konecny assisted on the first goal and was a nuisance throughout the night. He did have a center-ice turnover in the third which led to some harrowing moments, but his goalie bailed him out. The line of Konecny, Sean Couturier and Claude Giroux was strong throughout.
A Kase of cheer: David Kase picked a heckuva time to score the first goal of his career. He was playing against his older brother, Ducks forward Ondrej, and his parents flew in from the Czech Republic to watch the boys. The goal by Kase (pronounced kah-shah, like the renowned South Philly bakery) was a nifty redirection off a pass from Travis Sanheim. It held up as the game-winner.
Yo, dude. That's my brother: Ondrej Kase had a couple of chances to score, including a third-period opportunity turned away by Hart. Ondrej was briefly knocked out of the game when he was boarded by Matt Niskanen.
You're killing me: The recent losses of Oskar Lindblom, Scott Laughton, Michael Raffl and Tyler Pitlick has put a crimp in the Flyers penalty-killing units. They gave up a goal, but killed off four others.
