Former US president Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama have been named the most admired man and woman by Americans in an annual Gallup poll.
This year was Mr Obama's 11th consecutive year of being crowned the most admired man in the list, and he's just one year short of tying former US president Dwight D Eisenhower for the most times winning the distinction.
Ms Obama's victory is her first, and also marks the first time in 17 years Hillary Clinton did not top the list.
Oprah Winfrey finished second, and Ms Clinton came in third, ahead of Melania Trump.
President Donald Trump finished second to Mr Obama for the fourth straight year.
In the survey, conducted December 3-12, Gallup asked 1,025 random US adults what man or woman anywhere in the world they most admire.
Gallup has polled Americans every year since 1946 except 1976, and of 72 years, the sitting President has only lost 13 times.
According to the pollster, the President usually does not win when he has subpar job ratings.
"Trump and Gerald Ford are the two presidents to date who did not win the honour while in office," Gallup wrote.
There was a partisan divide: 35 per cent of Democrats named Mr Obama while 32 per cent of Republicans named Mr Trump.
While 28 per cent of Democrats most admired Ms Obama, only 9 per cent of Republicans tipped off Ms Trump.
Rounding out the top 10 most admired women were Queen Elizabeth, Angela Merkel, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Ellen DeGeneres, Nikki Haley, Malala Yousafzai and Nancy Pelosi.
George W Bush, Pope Francis, Bill Gates, Bernie Sanders, Bill Clinton, the Dalai Lama, Joe Biden, Elon Musk, and Mike Pence complete the men's list.
