Oatly has launched a plant-based oat yogurt and it's available at Tesco

Dairy-free yogurt is becoming increasingly popular across the UK - which is why it comes as no surprise that popular vegan milk brand Oatly has just launched a new range of oat-based yogurts.

The Swedish brand says it tastes just like normal yogurt and has a similarly creamy consistency. We're already sold.

There are four different 'Oatgurt' flavours to choose from - Plain, Strawberry, Blueberry and Greek Style, which are available in Tesco stores now.

Oatgurt Plain, Strawberry, and Blueberry will set you back £1.99 per pot, while Oatgurt Greek Style is priced at £2.20.

Made using oats instead of dairy, the new yogurts make it that little bit easier for shoppers to follow a plant-based diet.

What's more? Oatgurt comes in a sustainable pot that is made from up to 70% renewable sources. This is part of the brand’s goal to make their full packaging portfolio as close to 100% renewable material as possible.

As the new yogurt is made with oats and is free from milk, this means it contains unsaturated fat which is better for you compared to what's in dairy products.

The milk-free yogurt contains unsaturated fat which is better for you than what you find in dairy products.

It comes from rapeseed oil which is high in unsaturated fat, and replacing saturated fat in the diet with unsaturated fat will help to maintain normal blood cholesterol levels.

Ishen Paran, General Manager at Oatly UK said: "After being so popular across Europe, we’re now introducing our line-up of four Oatgurt flavours to the UK.

"Branching out our product range even further and launching such a food staple with Oatgurt shows our continued commitment to making it easier for people to switch from dairy to oat."

Meanwhile, Leon's gluten-free chicken nuggets have landed on Sainsbury's shop shelves and on the Sainsbury's website.

They are priced at £4 per 300g pack and can be found in the frozen aisle.
