Oasis: Supersonic documentary coming to Netflix this March

British music documentary Oasis: Supersonic, which aims to tell the definitive story of the legendary Manchester band, is finally coming to Netflix this March.

The film, which is named after Oasis' iconic debut single, was directed by Max Whitecross, and was filmed alongside a team of producers who previously won the Oscar for their music documentary about the life of Amy Winehouse.

Supersonic details the history of the Britpop band during their early years and their rise to fame.

It also goes to the heart of their overwhelming success in the mid-1990s, featuring off-screen interviews with members of the band and people associated with them.

The film is packed with archive video of concerts, interviews from the height of their fame in the '90s and backstage footage of the band.

Supersonic was called "a masterpiece" and "one of the most entertaining movies ever made" by reviewers when it was first released back in 2016, and it has also gone down a hit with Gallagher fans (and there are quite a few of those in Belfast!)

Now, the hit music documentary is set to land on Netflix in the UK and Ireland on March 1.

The news comes as Liam Gallagher is set to perform his biggest ever solo gig at Belfast Vital in August this year.

The Oasis frontman has also been hinting on Twitter that the band could be making a comeback at some stage in the near future, over 10 years after his acrimonious fallout with brother Noel led to them breaking up.

Also coming to Netflix next month are hip-hop biographical film 'Straight Outta Compton', the 2017 adaption of Stephen King's 'It', and the acclaimed horror film 'A Quiet Place'.
