Oasis star Noel Gallagher's ex-wife runs cannabis farms to make oil to help menopause

Noel Gallagher’s ex-wife Meg Matthews has revealed she is running two cannabis farms.

The 53-year-old, who inspired the Oasis hit Wonderwall, is growing a legal variant of the plant to make cannabis oil.

She has used it to treat her anxiety and hopes it could also help women going through the menopause.

Meg said: “I grow it in England and Ireland.

“The seeds don’t have THC in – the hallucinogenic part in weed which makes you get stoned.”

She makes a range of products, starting at £70, which she is hoping to stock in shops.

Meg said: “The whole process goes from the plant being cold-compressed and then the liquid that comes from it looks like a black tar.

“Then it is taken to my workshop in south London, where the CBD oil is bottled or used in other products.”

CBD is a non-psychoactive compound in marijuana and hemp and is known for its medicinal purposes.

But Meg said it’s a struggle to spread the word about her products.

She added: “I do think it’s crazy that I can go on Loose Women to talk about the menopause but the Advertising Association will not let you say the word ‘menopause’ or the word ‘menstrual’. It’s ridiculous.

“Every woman is going to go through the menopause but I can’t advertise my products on TV. I’d have to say ‘these products are for a woman of a certain age’.”
