Oasis sends 'severe' warning to fans ahead of Live '25 concerts in Manchester

Oasis sent fans a “severe” warning about the “extreme” hot weather ahead of their Live ‘25 reunion shows in Manchester on Friday and Saturday.

Liam and Noel Gallagher will be performing to a reported 80,000 fans at Heaton Park this evening and tomorrow amid sweltering temperatures, with highs of 30C.

The Wonderwall rockers urged revellers from their home city to “prepare for extreme sun and heat” in a statement issued on Instagram.

“Severe weather advice Friday and Saturday - Heaton Park,” the post began.

“Please prepare for extreme sun and heat. Wear sun screen. Stay hydrated at the concert and when travelling. Wear a (bucket) hat.

“Where possible stay in the shade. Look after yourself and look after each other.”

The gates at Heaton Park are expected to open at 3pm, with indie rockers Cast performing at 6pm, followed by The Verve’s former lead singer Richard Ashcroft at 7pm.

Oasis will take to the stage at 8.15pm, with the show expected to wrap up at about 10.30pm.

Concert-goers can bring 500ml bottles of water, with refill stations available at the venue.

Manchester made it known that the Gallagher brothers were back, with the tram network replacing its announcement voiceover at Heaton Park with Liam’s voice on the concert dates.

Aldi supermarket also joined the fun, building on the buzz by changing one of its store signs in Prestwich to “Aldeh”, embracing the Mancunian pronunciation of its name.

The Britpop legends reunited for the first time in 16 years last week when they kicked off their ‘Live 25 world tour in Cardiff after years of feuding.

Liam, 52, and Noel, 58, will perform five shows at Heaton Park, before heading to London’s Wembley Stadium, Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium and Dublin’s Croke Park throughout July, August and September.

The group will then head to Japan, South Korea, South America, Australia and North America.

A movie produced by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is being made in conjunction with the reunion tour.

The reunion announcement in August came after Noel quit the band, saying he “simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer”, following a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris in 2009.
