Oasis-inspired Definitely Maybe bar to double up as 'work cafe'

An Oasis-inspired bar is planning to double up as a 'work cafe' during the week.

The Definitely Maybe Bar opened in Bolton town centre last year and has become a popular weekend destination, known for regular performances from up-and-coming musicians.

Until now, it hasn't opened much during the week or through the day but from June 1, it will start opening from 9am for people on the go and home-based workers who want a change of scenery.

Paul Gallagher, who owns the bar with his brother Mark, credited customers for coming up with the idea.

He said: "A few of them have told us that they're fed up of working from home and starting at the same four walls.

"This place is sat here all day and it lends itself quite well to being a cafe I think.

"There's 11 work stations in total and we'll have a waiting on service between the hours of 9am and 3pm, serving coffees and snacks.

"We've got good WiFi, power sockets everywhere, wireless charging on the tables. We can put extension leads in or whatever people need.

"You can come and do a couple of hours work and do anything else you need to do in the town centre while you're here."

This bank holiday weekend was only the bar's second since opening in February 2020, due to lockdowns.

Since reopening on May 20, Bolton's own Gallagher brothers have been happy with how things have been going.

Paul added: "Everything's gone really smoothly, especially considering the staff basically hadn't done it in six months.

"The majority of the staff are our family so it's nice to see them working again and everyone pulls together for the good of the place."

Tables for the work cafe are free to book and can be done through the Definitely Maybe Day Cafe Facebook page.
