Oasis have reassured fans there will be no awkward kiss-cam moments at their concerts, taking a pointed swipe at the recent controversy that exposed a cheating couple during a Coldplay gig.
Frontman Liam Gallagher, 52, known for his blunt wit and no-nonsense attitude, poked fun at the viral incident in which a couple shown on the big screen at a July 16 concert near Boston, Massachusetts, suddenly dropped out of view.
Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin had joked at the time: “Ooh, look at these two. Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy!”
As it turned out, Martin was spot on.
After the clip quickly spread across social media, internet sleuths identified the pair as Astronomer chief executive Andy Byron and his company’s HR chief Kristin Cabot.

Byron, who is married, was placed on leave and soon resigned amid the scandal, which dominated headlines and sparked widespread online discussion about privacy and public shaming.
Throughout their Music of the Spheres global tour, Coldplay have done a segment at each show where they film audience members and Martin sings an impromptu song to them.
However, following the incident in Boston, the band seemed more cautious, warning fans in Madison, Wisconsin, that they might be filmed.
“We’d like to say hello to some of you in the crowd. How we’re gonna do that is we’re gonna use our cameras and put some of you on the big screen,” Martin explained.

He added with a smile: “So please, if you haven’t done your makeup, do your makeup now.”
Amid all the frenzy, Oasis chose to take a different stance during their reunion tour. Addressing the sold-out crowd at Manchester’s Heaton Park on Sunday, Liam asked: “Do we have any lovebirds in the house?”
He continued: “Don’t worry, we ain’t got any of that Coldplay, snidey f***ing cameras. It doesn’t matter to us who you’re mingling with, or tingling with, or fingering with. None of our f***ing business.”
His words were met with laughter and cheers from fans.
The band’s reunion tour, their first together since splitting in 2009, kicked off earlier this month in Cardiff and has been met with enthusiasm, drawing sold-out crowds across the UK.
The Standard’s own Martin Robinson was in the crowd in Cardiff and, in his five-star review, declared: “killer setlist, brotherly love, history made.”
Oasis are set to take in two dates at London’s Wembley Stadium on September 27 and 28.
