OAP hospitalised after being hit by a car in East Kilbride

A 77-year-old woman has been hospitalised with “serious” injuries after being hit by a car on St Leonards Road.

No police are asking for anyone who can help with their investigations to come forward.

The incident happened just after 8pm on Saturday night when the woman was knocked down by a Honda Civic.

The road remained closed for a period of time at both Calderwood and St. Leonards Road. Now police are appealing for information following the accident .

Road Policing Sergeant, Leigh McCulloch, said: “The woman sustained serious injuries.

“We are appealing for any witnesses in the St. Leonards Road area, who may have seen either the pedestrian or vehicle prior or at the time of the collision, to get in touch.”

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101. Information can be left anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
