TEAM NEEDS
Edge Rusher
In 2018, the Raiders had just 13 sacks, by far the fewest in the league. At the moment Oakland only has two players at the position on the roster with those being Arden Key and newly acquired Josh Mauro.
Guard
Gabe Jackson will man one side and it appears Denzelle Good will play opposite of him. Good was brought in late in the season and started the final three games of the year at right guard replacing Jackson when lost to an injury. He doesn’t appear to be the long-term answer at the position, though.
Cornerback
The Raiders brought back Daryl Worley and signed Nevin Lawson for their nickel package, but the team needs to find a starting option opposite Gareon Conley. Not to mention, Conley battled injuries in the 2018 season, too.
Tight End
The Raiders lost one of their top tight end options in Jared Cook, who signed with the Saints. The only players on the active roster are Lee Smith and Derek Carrier. They have a combined 99 career receptions and 9 touchdowns, making them only liabilities.
Running Back
The Raiders chose not to re-sign Doug Martin, and Marshawn Lynch still needs more time to decide whether he wants to keep playing. Nonetheless, Lynch doesn’t have much more left in the tank. Isaiah Crowell was added in the running back, but he isn’t reliable enough to take on a true No. 1 role.
