Another added: "What's going on with the network? Can't make outbound calls. Is this a national issue?"

The mobile provider has been forced to respond to unhappy customers on the social media network.

Responding to concerns and complaints, O2 said: "We've seen some reports of customers unable to make or receive voice calls, which is being investigated as high priority. We'll share any updates as they become available on our status checker here https://status.o2.co.uk/ "

On their website they said: "We’re aware of an issue impacting voice services. Our technical teams are investigating. We apologise for any inconvenience. Updates will be shared here as soon as they are available."
