O2 donates £1 million to the BBC's Big Night In coronavirus fundraiser

O2 has announced that it will be donating £1 million to the BBC's Big Night In show.

The fundraising event will air from 7pm on Thursday, April 23, and will see a host of famous faces join forces to celebrate key workers on the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic, and to also raise money for vulnerable people affected by the deadly virus.

On the night, there will also be a feature on what O2 has been doing to support the country, the NHS and its customers during the COVID-19 pandemic with specially filmed videos featuring customers and employees.

From, Thursday 23rd April O2 will also be giving NHS staff (who are with the network) a free 10GB bundle of data each month, for a three-month period, so they can stay in touch worry free. It is also providing free voice calls and data for 2,000 devices to be used by patients in NHS Nightingale sites.

The Big Night In marks the first time that the BBC’s biggest charitable partners - Children in Need and Comic Relief -  come together to celebrate and reward those going the extra mile to support their communities during the coronavirus outbreak.
