NZ central bank to make unexpected announcement at 1900 GMT

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) said it would make an announcement at 1900 GMT.

It said the announcement would be published through usual channels, but no further details were provided.

ANZ Bank said it expected RBNZ to announce an emergency 50 basis points interest rate cut.
