NEW YORK _ The NYPD is investigating a third sexual assault allegation against Harvey Weinstein _ this time from an actress who accuses the fallen movie mogul of raping her in 2010, police sources said.
The accuser, an actress who came forward 10 days ago, told NYPD investigators Weinstein raped her in lower Manhattan on two different occasions that year, sources said.
"We have a case that we have been looking into regarding two prior incidents that took place in 2010. The D.A.'s been apprised. They're looking at it with us," a police source told the New York Daily News on Thursday.
Emmy-nominated actress Annabella Sciorra broke her silence last Friday, to tell The New Yorker that Weinstein had violently raped her in the 1990s, and sexually harassed her for years afterward.
Since the Weinstein scandal broke, the NYPD has opened other probes _ one for a 2004 incident in which then-aspiring actress Lucia Evans accused Weinstein of forcing her to perform oral sex in his Tribeca office, and an incident in which he allegedly committed a forcible sex act on another woman more than 10 years ago, police sources said.
