Audio captured the moment an NYPD helicopter pilot and a LaGuardia air traffic controller reacted to the pair who scaled the Empire State Building and unfurled a banner atop the 1,454-foot skyscraper.
The couple, who later appeared to get engaged mid-climb, appeared in court Thursday on felony reckless endangerment, burglary, and other charges.
“Two geniuses climbed to the top of the Empire State Building to the top of the spire,” the NYPD pilot says.
“Oh that’s awesome. It’s not some worker changing a light, is it?” the air traffic controller replies.
