THREE Hunter nursing homes have been issued with non-compliance notices from the Australian Government's Department of Health.
Bayside Residential Aged Care Facility at Bonnells Bay, Amaroo Aged Care Facility in Charlestown, and Anglican Care Carey Bay Gardens have been issued with non-compliance notices for failing to meet all five of the standards required for accreditation.
It comes ahead of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety's community forum in Newcastle on November 27.
The My Aged Care website says Bayside did not meet industry benchmarks for health and personal care, behavioural management, infection control, regulatory compliance, education and staff development, and clinical care. Carey Bay Gardens failed to meet quality of care principles for consumer dignity and choice, personal and clinical care, feedback and complaints, and services and supports for daily living.
Amaroo Aged Care Facility was given a non-compliance notice in September for failure to meet clinical care requirements.
