Nursery raided by callous thieves who stole cash and two minibuses

Nursery staff have been left 'devastated' after their office was ransacked by callous thieves who made-off with a wad of cash and two minibuses.

Workers at Happy Days Out of School Care in Uddingston came to work this morning to find the building had been broken into and extensively damaged.

The office, in Tannockside Business Park, was raided by crooks who burst open the medicine cabinet, nicked petty cash and also stole two of the nursery's vehicles. A stash of money which had been gathered by the kids through fundraising was also taken.

Happy Days Out of School Care took to social media this morning to announce the upsetting news.

A post on Facebook said: "We are devastated to say this is what our staff came into this morning. Not only was the office ransacked, medicine cabinet burst open, damage to the building but they have also stolen our two minibuses.

"Probably most upsetting is the fact that the children raised just short of £500 and used half to buy toys to donate to Womens Aid which they did at Christmas. The remaining money was for the kids wish list but this has now been stolen along with petty cash etc."

Search launched for masked men following reports of suspicious incident in Victoria Road

Police Scotland say they have launched an investigation into the incident.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Around 7.15am on Wednesday, police received reports of a break in at a nursey in Tannockside Business Park. Two mini buses were stolen. An investigation has been launched and inquiries are underway."
