PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN: A nurse and her boyfriend have been arrested and drugs worth over 15 million baht seized, police said yesterday.
The arrests followed raids on two premises in Muang district following a tip-off. The first raid was on a room in a block of nurses' flats on Maharat Road on Thursday night. Another team was sent to search a house on Suksomboon Road.
A woman carrying two bags was spotted heading from the building to a motorcycle. They stopped her and a quick search found drugs.
The woman, was identified as Duangkamol Phisootsiang, 30, a nurse from Bang Saphan Noi district. Police later found 21,000 speed pills, one kilogramme of crystal meth and 11 slabs of compressed marijuana in her room.
The second team found 6,000 seed pills and 600 grammes of crystal meth in the home of Ekkarat Saengarthituthai, 36, Ms Duangkamol's boyfriend.

Health: Extreme care must be taken when using marijuana extract for medical treatment experts have warned after some studies have shown that cannabis can be a contributing factor to schizophrenia.
The disease -- a type of brain disorder -- which causes delusions and thinking-related problems were found in 72% of 1,170 addicts who sought drug rehabilitation in six state-run institutes between 2010 and 2016, said Sarayut Bunchaiphanitwatthana, chief of Princess Mother National Institute on Drug Abuse Treatment.
While the marijuana plant has many advantages, medical professionals and patients need to think carefully about its possible risks.
"Risks should be within an acceptable limit," Medical Services Department chief Somsak Akkhasin said.
