Nurse abused by 'idiots' she spotted drinking in park when she told them to go home

A nurse has shared a video of herself confronting a group of abusive young "idiots" who were flouting lockdown rules.

The mum of two posted a video on Facebook of the group gathering in a park - with some yelling abuse at her when she told them to move on.

She spotted the youngsters in a park in Basingstoke, Hampshire sipping beer and gave them a piece of her mind, reports the Mirror Online.

The Government is urging people to stay at home over Easter amid fears that with continuing good weather forecast, people would flock to parks and beaches and undermine its social distancing strategy.

It comes after cases of coronavirus have risen again in Bristol with 24 more cases confirmed in the last 24 hours.

The rise in local cases came on the same day that the UK suffered its deadliest day of the pandemic yet.

Yesterday (Friday, April 10) saw a daily rise of 980 deaths - a toll that passed the peaks in Italy and Spain. This takes the UK death toll to 8,958.

Tragically 19 NHS staff are among those who have died, Health Secretary Matt Hancock confirmed this morning.

In a video shared on Facebook, the nurse is heard saying: "I have to go to work every day fearing I am going to be [a risk] to my family because of people like you!

"You are absolute idiots."

But one of the group angrily responds "well don't stand near us then innit".

When one of the youngsters demanded that she stopped filming, the nurse said: "No! If you're gonna be stupid then I'll show the world how stupid you are.

"Absolute idiots, why you think you're better than everyone else, I've got no idea!"

It was only then that the group started to disperse, as she told them to go back to their mansions.

This prompted one of the group to respond: "F*** off."

The nurse told the group she was going to call the police if they did not go home.
