'Nuno is a no go' - Wolves fans send strong message to Arsenal over manager Nuno Espirito Santo

Unai Emery is no longer in charge of Arsenal.

A 2-1 Europa League defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt, Arsenal's seventh game without a win, proved to be the last straw for Gunners' chiefs, who announced on Friday morning that they had parted company with the Spaniard.

"We announce today that the decision has been taken to part company with our head coach Unai Emery and his coaching team," read a statement on the official website.

"Speaking on behalf of the Arsenal board and our owners Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, Josh Kroenke said: “Our most sincere thanks go to Unai and his colleagues who were unrelenting in their efforts to get the club back to competing at the level we all expect and demand. We wish Unai and his team nothing but future success.”

"The decision has been taken due to results and performances not being at the level required.

"We have asked Freddie Ljungberg to take responsibility for the first team as interim head coach. We have full confidence in Freddie to take us forward.

"The search for a new head coach is underway and we will make a further announcement when that process is complete."

One of the favourites to take over from Emery is Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo, who led his team to the knockout stages of the Europa League on Thursday night.

Upon the breaking of the news that Arsenal had parted company with Emery, Wolves fans took to social media to send a warning to the Gunners over their manager.

Arsenal are back in action on Sunday, when they travel to Carrow Road to take on Norwich City.
