Nuno Espirito Santo sends message to Wolves fans amid Arsenal managerial links

Nuno Espirito Santo has sent a message to Wolves fans following his side's 3-3 draw in the Europa League against Braga, where he was serenaded with anti-Arsenal chants.

The Portuguese boss has been widely tipped as a candidate to replace the increasingly under-fire Unai Emery at the Emirates Stadium, with the 46-year-old represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes - a close friend of Raul Sanllehi's.

Ahead of Wolves' Europa League clash on Thursday, Nuno refused to delve into the rumours on his future but the visiting supporters made their feelings clear during the match in Portugal.

With the supporters desperate from him to stay, Nuno's words after the match were more encouraging as he thanked fans for their support and vowed to strive for more success with the club.

“It requires a lot of effort to travel and be here on a night like this to support the team, that’s what makes us proud. A journey that started in the Championship. I’m very proud," he said in a post-match press conference.

“If we can achieve more, we’ll try. It’s the same group of players that are trying to grow and I’m extremely proud because our fans are always with us and supporting us.”

Speculation on Emery's future in North London has been rife as the Gunners headed into their penultimate Europa League group-stage match with Eintracht Frankfurt without a win in their last six matches in all competitions.

Prior to the international break, the Arsenal board issued a vote of confidence in the Spanish boss but his stock took a further hit after a 2-2 draw with a struggling Southampton side at the weekend.
