Nuno Espirito Santo's Wolves transfer hint which could be bad news for Arsenal, Spurs & Chelsea

Nuno Espirito Santo has said that he is confident that Wolves will bolster their attacking options before the January transfer window closes.

Clubs in the Premier League have been able to sign players since January 1, but as of yet there's been no fresh faces at Molineux Stadium.

But that could be about to change.

Premier League transfer round-up: Bruno Fernandes talks

Speaking ahead of his side's FA Cup third round replay away at Manchester United, the Wolves boss was quizzed about potential transfers and his response could be bad news for Arsenal, Chelsea as well as Tottenham Hotspur.

"We are working on it," Nuno said. "I hope so (being close to signing new players).

"It's very difficult for all the clubs, it's a transfer window that is not the best one, because many players are involved in their teams.

"Sometimes you want a target and he's not available because he's playing.

"Sometimes you want things to move faster, so it's a tough moment but we are working on it.

"It's up to us to find the right deal. I'm confident."

Whilst not mentioning any players in particular, Nuno's comments could be in relation to Atletico Madrid winger Thomas Lemar.

The France international is out of favour in the Spanish capital and recent reports claim that Wolves have joined the aforementioned London trio in the race for the 24-year-old's signature.

Spanish publication Marca claimed earlier in the week that Atletico Madrid are reportedly considering a swap deal involving Alexandre Lacazette and Lemar, while Foot Mercato state that Spurs are hoping to take the midfielder on loan for the rest of the season with an option to buy in the summer.

Furthermore, Standard have said that Chelsea have been offered Lemar who is seen as a cheaper alternative to the £80m-rated Wilfried Zaha.

However, Wolves just might have the edge following Nuno's transfer hint.
