Nuno Espirito Santo’s role in Harry Kane transfer after striker confirms when talks will happen

Tottenham’s new boss Nuno Espirito Santo has been assured that the club will not sell prize asset Harry Kane without his blessing.

The England captain has been on international duty at the European Championships this summer and speculation about his future has continued throughout the competition.

Although he managed to get off the mark in England’s 2-0 win over Germany in the round of 16 clash on Tuesday evening, Kane’s performances in the tournament prior to that victory have come in for some criticism.

football.london understands that Spurs’ stance has always been that Kane is not for sale this summer despite the 27-year-old’s growing frustration that the club weren’t competing for the top trophies in football.

Now, according to reports from the Telegraph, Espirito Santo has been told by the club’s hierarchy that Spurs’ star man will not be sold unless the Portuguese believes he can improve the current squad with any incoming fee.

The news comes after reports that the club promised their new boss that they have no intention of selling their most valuable asset.

As per the Daily Mail, Daniel Levy and co will keep on resisting offers for Kane, unless bid of around £150m is made from Pep Guardiola 's side, but no business is expected until the Euro 2020 campaign concludes, as confirmed by Kane himself.

The Tottenham striker was asked about the speculation surrounding his future ahead of England’s group stage opener against Croatia and how he has handled it.

"It's been ok. I'm sure I'll get asked about it a lot but my most important thing is trying to win a major tournament with England," he told the BBC.

"The rest of the stuff will happen obviously when I get back from the tournament but for now that's all I'm focused on."

"I'm not someone who listens to the noise anyway, whether it's good or bad to be honest.”
