Nuno Espirito Santo responds to Tottenham rumours as Ryan Mason gives Harry Kane injury update

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Saturday, April 24.

Nuno responds amid links to Spurs

Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed he remains focused on Wolves despite being linked with Tottenham recently.

Following Jose Mourinho's sacking, Nuno has emerged as one of the bookies' favourites to replace the former Spurs boss.

Now, the Portuguese coach has responded to those rumours, where he said: "I have a contract. When I sign a contract there is nothing that I can say more.

"It’s my decision to sign a contract and that’s all I want to say. When I make a decision like that there’s no doubt in my mind.”

Kane issues Mourinho sacking verdict

Harry Kane has admitted he only found out about Mourinho being sacked just five or 10 minutes before it was officially announced.

Mourinho left Spurs on Monday after 17 months at the club, much to the surprise of many given his side have a Carabao Cup final to play on Sunday.

Kane, who revealed he had a good relationship with his former manager, said that he found out Daniel Levy's decision just minutes before it became public knowledge.

The Spurs striker told Sky Sports: "I was surprised (by Mourinho's sacking) - I'll be totally honest.

"I came in that morning and probably found out five to ten minutes before it was announced.

"A lot of the focus was on the Carabao Cup final and preparing for that but, look, it's football.

"I've been here now where a couple of managers have been sacked and, as a player now, I don't think you ever expect the boss to be sacked but it's part of the game, you have to deal with it."

Mason gives Kane injury update

Tottenham interim boss Ryan Mason is still unsure whether Kane will be fit for Sunday's Carabao Cup final.

The England captain was substituted in the final minutes of Spurs' 2-2 draw with Everton last Friday after suffering an ankle injury.

With Spurs' biggest game of the season on the horizon, it is still unclear if their star striker will be available for selection.

Mason said: "We're not sure yet. He didn't train with the team today but we'll have more of an idea tomorrow to see if we can get him back on the pitch."

Asked to rate his chances of making it, he added: "I'm not really sure. It's a case of taking it hour by hour now. So the days are obviously running out.

"It's a case of seeing how he feels in the next four hours, the next six hours, and go from there. I can't really answer that question until tomorrow. Everyone isn't sure."
